Why most FSBOs fail to sell.

Many homeowners believe they can sell their home themselves and save the commission.
But here’s what many sellers get it wrong. Knowing and loving your home and knowing how to sell your home are two very different things.
Homeowners are often emotionally attached to their property, which can make it impossible to price objectively. Overpricing will cause the home to sit on the market until it does not sell!
Then there’s everything else that goes into a successful sale.
Professional photography and video. Staging recommendations. Marketing across multiple platforms. Scheduling and managing showings. Screening buyers to make sure they’re qualified. Negotiating offers, inspection issues, appraisal challenges, financing delays, and navigating the legal paperwork all the way to closing.
A mistake at any one of those stages can be expensive, create legal liability or cancellation of the sale.
After all of this, many FSBO homes don’t sell and end up hiring a listing agent.
When you’re selling an asset worth hundreds of thousands—or even millions—of dollars, saving on the commission can be very expensive. Either the home does not sell, or it sells for a lot less.

If you’re thinking about selling your home, I’d be happy to provide a free pricing consultation and explain the strategies we use to help our clients generate more buyer interest, more competition, and a higher sale price.
